Engineering Geologist

Major Responsibilites

• Performing take offs and quotes. Tracking projects with CRM Zoho.
• Provide engineering support primarily to our East coast customer base with some West coast support.
• Regularly attend and present at conferences and industry gatherings as a helical piles subject matter expert.
• Pro-actively work with DOT’s or other owners to drive the use of FTI’s family of brands within the AOR.  
• Be actively involved in “Technical committees” to support FTI’s Helical team.
• Working with the outside sales team pro-actively look for value engineering opportunities in the East where helical piles could be a viable alternative to other foundation elements.

▪  This includes pro-actively prospecting jobs on Construct Connect.

▪  Sending potential helical projects to viable clients to garner interest in bidding on the project as well as preparing bid documents for said projects.

▪  Scraping plans in the bid room for engineer firms to send lunch and learn/seminar info.

▪  Identify potential contractors to pass on to sales team for friendly visits and phone calls to discuss helical business.

• Working with the outside sales team for engineering visits to contractors, engineers, and geo-techs etc.
• Be willing and able to go to job sites to provide technical support independently (this would be a very, very rare situation) or in conjunction with our field specialists.

▪  Educating Local Municipality

▪  Lead Forensics- identify and follow up with potential customers visiting the website

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural engineering; or its demonstrated equivalent 
• EIT/PE or GIT/PG certification preferred but not required. 
• 5 years Civil/Geotechnical or Structural experience 
• Ability to prepare and review standard engineering documentation and geotechnical reports. 
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, basic CAD) 
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) are a must. 
• Strong customer service experience 
• Works well with diverse group. 
• Hard Worker/Self-Starter
