Job Description: Account Manager

Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Work Location: Kool Logistics office in Swedesboro, NJ

Compensation: Base salary plus bonus

Benefits: Health, dental and vision insurance, Retirement plan, Paid time off

Reports to: Branch Manager

Experience: Logistics Sales & Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred); McLeod Software (Preferred)

Education: Associate (Preferred)


Essential Functions

1. Solicit potential and existing carriers to cover customer orders.

2. Dispatching, Tracking and Tracing of shipments with carriers once loaded and relaying information to customers, to ensure issues are resolved timely and customers updated.

3. Maintaining existing customer relationships with the goal of growing the volume of business with key customers

4. Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to customers assigned.

5. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with account contacts.

6. Identify and grow opportunities and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth as budgeted.

7. Prospect, develop, and manage new customers.

8. Have competent understanding of how transportation systems operate, including order process, updates, and claim management.

9. Support of A/R functions to ensure timely payment of service.

10. Achieve budgeted targets for cases/loads and profit by assigned customers.

11. Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and expectations through timely and frequent communication.

12. Present new items/services to customers monthly

13. Ensure contract exceptions are followed up with customer. Report non-complying contract customers to Branch Manager

14. Visit assigned customers as necessary to solicit sales opportunities and perform annual business reviews for larger customers.

15. Communicate with the Branch Manager as needed to update situations of concerns or to ask questions regarding an unknown area of responsibility.

16. Have competent understanding of how various company software operates, with knowledge of the order process and reporting options.

17. Communicate with sales team within division and outside to collaborate for opportunities.

Qualifications

3. Creative ability and imagination.

4. Ability to work under pressure.

5. Excellent communication skills and presentation in both a group setting and on the phone.

6. Command of PC Windows environment including Microsoft Office

7. Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to management, employees, corporate personnel, and vendors/suppliers.

8. Excellent analytical, problem resolution, negotiating and project management skills.

9. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlines.

10. Bilingual, Spanish a plus.
