Sorini, Samet & Associates LLC (SSA), a specialized Washington DC consulting firm focused on international trade, labor, and sustainability matters, is looking for a capable and talented individual to join our team. The position would involve providing strategic, political, and technical advice on issues in international trade, labor standards and sustainability to the firm leadership and directly to clients that include companies, trade associations and foreign governments.


The position is responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Creating and delivering cogent, engaging, timely and informative written (memoranda, newsletters, emails) and verbal (conference calls, presentations, webinars) briefings and updates for clients.
  • Developing and leading advocacy campaigns on behalf of individual clients or coalitions; this includes leading executive fly-ins, creating position papers, talking points, drafting legislative proposals, organizing meeting schedules, preparing participants, leading briefing calls and coordinating logistics.
  • Identifying and initiating outreach, drafting work proposals, and securing business development opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Preparing and submitting filings in response to requests for public comments and administrative proceedings.
  • Preparing and support clients in providing testimony before the U.S. Congress or Federal Agencies.
  • Analyzing import and export data and using that analysis to further client objectives.


Minimum qualifications for this position are:


  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, political science, or related field.
  • At least five years (or equivalent) of relevant experience such as working in or interacting with congressional offices and / or executive branch agencies.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of legislative, regulatory and political processes.
  • Willingness to work remotely or in-office as necessary (Washington, D.C.).
  • Ability to travel.


Preferred qualifications for this position are (in addition to the minimum qualifications):


  • J.D. or LLM in law / Master’s degree or Ph.D. in public policy, economics, political science, or related field.
