Our client is a leading player in the retail food and beverage industry, dedicated to delivering exceptional products and experiences to their customers. As they continue to grow and innovate, they are seeking a talented Senior Architect to join their team and play a pivotal role in the development and execution of their middleware strategies.


Job Summary:

The Senior Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing robust middleware solutions that support the company's strategic goals and operational needs. This role requires a deep understanding of middleware technologies, including Java, Amazon EKS, Amazon SQS, and Kubernetes. The Senior Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that systems are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. While Magento experience is not required, it is considered a valuable bonus.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement middleware architectures that support the company's retail and e-commerce platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for middleware technologies, including Java, Amazon EKS, Amazon SQS, and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other architects to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including diagrams, models, and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the integration of middleware components with existing systems, ensuring seamless communication and data flow.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot middleware performance issues, optimizing systems for scalability and efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions and strategies.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure the quality and reliability of the middleware layer.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in software architecture and design, with a focus on middleware technologies.
  • Proficiency in Java and experience with Amazon EKS, Amazon SQS, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the retail food and beverage industry is a plus.
  • Magento experience is a bonus, but not required.
