We are looking for a meticulous and organized Leave and Accommodations Administrative Specialist to support the administration of our client’s leave and accommodation programs. This role involves handling day-to-day administrative duties, ensuring compliance with relevant municipal, state, and federal leave regulations (such as FMLA and ADA), and assisting with the management of accommodation requests.

The ideal candidate will have solid administrative expertise, knowledge of leave programs (in multiple states including California), and experience with Workday to ensure the effective and accurate processing of leave and accommodation cases.


This is a fully remote contract to hire position, paying $29-$39/hr depending on experience. Candidates will be expected to work 8am-5pm in mountain time to ensure they are able to provide timely communication and support to employees.



About the Role - Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee employee accommodation requests in accordance with ADA and other applicable laws.
  • Partner with HR and management teams to facilitate and track accommodation implementation.
  • Utilize Workday to process and manage leave and accommodation requests, ensuring smooth alignment with other HR functions.
  • Recognize opportunities to improve processes within Workday to enhance leave tracking and reporting efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in municipal, state, and federal leave laws, ensuring organizational compliance.
  • Offer expert guidance and advice to HR and legal departments on complex cases related to leave and accommodations.
  • Serve as a resource for employees, providing clear explanations of leave and accommodation policies and procedures.
  • Respond empathetically to employee questions and concerns.
  • Provide timely updates and clarification on leave and accommodation statuses, ensuring employees understand the next steps.
  • Assist in generating periodic reports on leave and accommodation metrics.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as required.



Qualifications - Experience:

  • 1-2 years of administrative experience, ideally in HR or leave management.
  • Basic understanding of FMLA, ADA, and other related leave and accommodation laws across multiple states including California.


Required Skills - Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and HRIS systems such as Workday.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.


Preferred Skills - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Workday or other HR software systems is a plus.


Pay range

  • Hourly pay of $29-$39/hr
