Associate Attorney

For over 85 years, Young, Thagard, Hoffman, LLP has practiced insurance defense and litigation law throughout Georgia. Our office is located in Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia. We are a midsized firm with high growth and high volume that is seeking multiple, full-time candidates for associate attorney positions. We welcome recent graduates to apply as well as those that are well versed in the law.

Role Description

Responsibilities include managing all phases of pre-litigation and litigation process, maintain contact with and updating clients on cases and advising clients, drafting/reviewing pleadings, and motions, conducting, and preparing discovery and motions, handling hearings, depositions, mediations, as well as negotiating settlements, tracking time and expenses and other administrative functions related to the practice of law.  

Qualifications

• Stellar academic credentials
• Strong time management skills
• Competent in the use of Microsoft office applications and case Management software
• Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Goal-oriented with a focus on long-term career goals
• Licensed member of the Georgia Bar, or anticipate admission following February 2024 bar exam
• Bilingual- Spanish and English is a plus, but not required
