Job Description
The DOT Specialist is responsible for working with employees and government agencies to ensure the Company is following all local, state and federal regulations and Company policies. They must effectively evaluate, monitor, analyze and identify all driver compliance and non-compliance issues and resolve them in a timely manner. Responsible for helping manage internal and external compliance reporting, providing compliance assistance, and conducting compliance inquiries.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
- Coordinates DOT obligations, to ensure all compliance requirements are met.
- Provide answers to employee questions about company policies, procedures and standards and escalate to compliance management or other functional areas as needed.
- Maintain digital filing system and ensure that regulatory and compliance reports and licenses are submitted promptly and accurately.
- Ensure that appropriate control systems are in place and continually optimized to meet changing regulatory and industry standards.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Must possess valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Select’s insurance guidelines.
- Three to five years professional experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in DOT Compliance is preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal relationship skills are required.
- Must follow protocols to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Position may require travel.

Physical Demands and Exposures
- This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
- Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.
- Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
