Role: Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Aberdeen, MD

Model: Hybrid (3x a week)

Clearance Required: Secret/Top Secret/TS-SCI/TS-SCI with Poly


Responsibilities:


The Database Administrator (DBA) will support multiple PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server database management systems for various applications on the DCGS-A program. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Policy Development: Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and high availability of database management systems (DBMS).
  • Database Administration: Administering PostgreSQL databases in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Database Setup and Maintenance: Setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instances.
  • Performance Tuning: Hands-on experience with performance tuning for PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases.
  • Resource Allocation: Ensuring the availability and performance of databases by certifying that they have sufficient resources allocated for high resilience and speed.
  • Developer Support: Performing and assisting developers with performance tuning.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Proactively monitoring database systems to ensure secure services with minimal downtime, and improving maintenance through rollouts, patching, and upgrades.
  • Compliance: Experience working with Database DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
