Job Title: Technical Project Manager

Duration: 7 months

Location: Santa Monica, CA (on-site 3 days/week)


Purpose of the Job

As part of our client’s Software Engineering, the Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex enterprise technology projects. With expertise in project management methodologies and a deep understanding of technical disciplines, the incumbent will ensure the successful implementation and integration of these solutions in alignment with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Manage the delivery roadmap, plan, and work closely with the project team, partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to drive projects to conclusion.
  • Define and implement project management processes tailored to the specific needs of each project
  • Use Project Management Tools such as Jira to manage agile scrum projects, resource capacity, and track dependencies while ensuring completion of milestones within specific budgets and schedules.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively
  • Gather, document, and communicate project requirements
  • Track project progress, report status, and communicate critical updates to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Facilitate project governance activities, including planning, tracking, and reporting

Technical Leadership:

  • Understand and apply technical architecture principles and best practices
  • Perform technology market scans and conduct vendor evaluations
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Recommend strategic technology solutions to business stakeholders
  • Participate in the design and implementation of technical solutions

Key Deliverables:

  • Successful delivery of technical projects, meeting or exceeding predefined specifications
  • Effective utilization of project management tools and methodologies
  • Accurate and timely project reporting and communication
  • Identification and implementation of technical solutions that align with business goals
  • Continuous improvement of project governance practices


Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in project management, technical disciplines, or business administration preferred


Experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing technical projects in IT or related industries
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and certifications (PMP, CSM, CSPO preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, including SDLC, software development, cloud computing, and database engineering
  • Experience with technology market research
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver successful mission-critical projects


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Identity Providers:

  • Understanding the nuances between different IDPs and their integration patterns
  • Cloud and Infrastructure:
  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure, AWS and understanding of cloud architecture and services
  • Knowledge of networking concepts relevant to authentication and authorization flows
  • Knowledge of Authentication and Authorization Protocols:
  • Deep understanding of OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM protocols
  • Experience with API security and token-based authentication


The hourly pay range for this position is $55-60/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
