Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add a Software Engineer to its team. This role will work in Hybrid in Richardson, TX and works Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, in the office 3 days onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This is a contract role that pays $56 - 59.75 per hour.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Quickly grasp the environment's architecture/layout to identify and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Understand data models, service level dependencies, and data flows between services.
  • Develop robust applications based on Microservices architecture patterns using Java, Spring Boot, and Docker containers.
  • Design and implement RESTful web services using Spring MVC and Spring Cloud.
  • Utilize ORM tools like Hibernate for database interactions.
  • Deploy containerized solutions in a Kubernetes environment hosted on cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of services.
  • Lead technical collaborations, problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.
  • Work in an Agile environment using tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), JIRA, etc.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to technical documentation and knowledge base maintenance.
  • Implement release, change, and deployment processes on cloud platforms.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 8 or above, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, and RESTful web services.
  • Experience with ORM tools like Hibernate and working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Azure SQL.
  • Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration in cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of code versioning tools such as Git or SVN.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like ADO, JIRA, etc.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally distributed team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Angular JS or modern front-end frameworks like React JS.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Familiarity with stream processing platforms like Kafka and distributed computing frameworks like Spark.
  • Exposure to NodeJS or other JavaScript frameworks.
