Laboratory Manager

Position Summary:
The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and leading a team of laboratory technicians and scientists. The role requires expertise in laboratory processes, formulation development, and quality control to drive continuous improvement and innovation in product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise laboratory staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee formulation development and testing to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and quality standards within the laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality assurance, to support product development and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and processes in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Develop and implement laboratory protocols, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Manage laboratory equipment, ensuring regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting as needed.
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis for product or process issues and implement corrective actions.
- Drive innovation by staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and scientific advancements.
- Manage laboratory budgets, including purchasing supplies, managing inventory, and controlling costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong background in formulation development, quality control, and laboratory best practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and industry standards in the ink, coatings, or chemical industries is preferred.
Work Environment:
- This position operates in a laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and laboratory equipment.
- The role may require occasional travel to company facilities or industry events.
