Designs functional and scalable Web infrastructures, using Angular, NodeJS, GraphQL, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Designs and consumes RESTful APIs. Delivers, measures, and iterates on products and features, using Test Driven Development (TDD), automation, and DevSecOps. Designs User Experiences (UXs) and leads new product development. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted Web applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.\u00A0

Primary Responsibilities:\u00A0

\u00A0

  • Leads a team of software engineers responsible for building, maintaining, and deploying Web applications.\u00A0\u00A0

  • Sets the technical direction for the software engineering team and defines architectural standards.\u00A0

  • Develops a cohesive and comprehensive technical strategy and roadmap.\u00A0

  • Analyzes needs and drives technical decisions in support of firm wide goals.\u00A0

  • Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.\u00A0

  • Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.\u00A0

  • Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.\u00A0

  • Consults on deployment of major project deliverables.\u00A0

  • Consults on the documentation of major technology application.\u00A0

  • Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company architectural components.\u00A0

  • Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.\u00A0

  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.\u00A0

  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.\u00A0

  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.\u00A0

  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.\u00A0

  • Identifies and plans for future resource needs.\u00A0

Education and Experience:\u00A0

\u00A0

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Front End Development (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Web based applications in a financial services environment.\u00A0\u00A0

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Front End Development (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Web based applications in a financial services environment.\u00A0

Skills and Knowledge:\u00A0

Candidate must also possess:\u00A0

\u00A0

  • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) designing and developing high performant event driven financial applications, using JAVA/J2EE, JDBC, Spring, JSP, Servlets and Web technologies (Angular, JavaScript, and Node JS).\u00A0

  • DE performing application design and development according to design patterns, Test Driven and Behavior Driven Development (TDD and BDD), using Karma, Selenium, Mocha, Junit and Cypress, and Agile methodologies.\u00A0

  • DE designing and developing large multi-threaded applications, and consuming streaming market data, using Object Oriented Programming (OOP), C#, XAML, MVVM design pattern, and REST Services.\u00A0

  • DE evaluating new features in technology and business processes by creating Proof of Concepts (POC) and optimizing application performance, using Performance API, Blazemeter Taurus, and SiteSpeed.io.\u00A0

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
