TITLE: Safety Supervisor                                                                                   

FLSA STATUS: Exempt


POSITION SUMMARY:  This full-time role is responsible for managing the safety and health requirements on all active projects. The Safety Supervisor will oversee all aspects of construction safety related to project commitments.


LOCATION: This role will be located within daily driving distance of Bangor, Maine and will be traveling between different jobsites on a daily basis. The position will require moderate physical activity, including walking on rough terrain.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pre-job safety meetings with subcontractors
  • Site safety orientations
  • Site walkthroughs and inspections with focus on hazard recognition, resolution, and OSHA compliance
  • Jobsite OSHA recordkeeping
  • Incident/injury investigation and recordkeeping
  • Ensures daily administration of safety rules, Federal and State OSHA Compliance and enforcement, policies and procedures, and other regulations
  • Works closely with Corporate Safety Director in regard to corporate programs and Safety Preferred Qualifications:


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related fields and 2+ years construction safety experience with an emphasis on T&D.
  • Experience with Minimum Approach Distances, PPE requirements, fall protection, scaffolding, confined-space.
  • OSHA 30 hour, 40 hour HAZWOPER, and other T&D safety related trainings
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • Strong Organizational Skills
