Overview
We are seeking a Director of Compliance to spearhead our clients compliance initiatives, ensuring our operations align with legal standards, regulatory directives, and industry best practices. This vital role encompasses the management of compliance frameworks, audit mechanisms, and risk mitigation strategies to uphold the integrity of our pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will bridge internal teams and external partners, promoting a culture of compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance programs, focusing on adherence to pharmacy-related regulations such as HIPAA, FDA, and other state and federal laws.
- Execute regular compliance audits, identifying and rectifying non-compliance issues through effective corrective action plans.
- Proactively identify operational and compliance risks, crafting strategies to minimize and manage such risks, ensuring readiness for compliance challenges.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration, ensuring compliance initiatives are integrated across legal, technology, pharmacy, and business operations.
- Maintain meticulous records, including policies, procedures, and compliance documentation, to satisfy client and regulatory agency requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for client and regulatory agency interactions related to compliance matters, ensuring smooth management of compliance-related inquiries and issues.
- Lead or contribute to strategic organizational initiatives with a compliance focus.
- Guide and develop a team of compliance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance awareness.
- Undertake additional duties as necessary to support the organization's compliance goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, legal, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance or legal roles within the pharmacy sector, including experience with pharmacy compliance, legal affairs, or related areas.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy regulations, documentation standards, and change management practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, make critical decisions under pressure, and achieve impactful results.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree or comparable legal qualification.
- PharmD or RPh credential.
