Title: Associate Scientist in vivo Interventional Oncology (Onsite Role)

We are seeking for highly motivated Associate Scientist to complement our Discovery Biology team at the Spring House Lab Site. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of scientists in exploratory immuno-oncology, playing a key role in the evaluation and understanding of new drug concepts in vitro and in vivo.


Your key responsibilities:

  1. Execute in vivo experimentation, including tumor implantation, dosing, and handling of investigational drugs (including chemotherapeutics), tumor volume measurements as well collection of tissues/tumors for downstream analysis. Daily monitoring of ongoing in vivo experiments. Work closely with in vivo sciences staff and Vets monitoring animal welfare and health.
  2. Assist team with planning, design, and execution, of various in vivo syngeneic and xenografts tumor studies. Use established DDI guidelines for in vivo data collection, analysis and reporting.
  3. Conduct in vitro human and ex vivo mouse immunology experiments to support ongoing immune-oncology portfolio including assays using cancer cell, myeloid, and T-cell based co-cultures. Tumor cell biology analysis including analysis of PDX lines and tumor dissociated materials to investigate MoA of investigational drugs.
  4. Role requires agility and flexibility in the application of diverse cellular and molecular biology techniques and assays (e.g. cell/organoid culture, compound screening, FACS, ELISA, MSD, western blotting, qRT-PCR, cell transfections & transductions, viral productions etc.).
  5. Support the discovery biology team with experimental set-up, assay optimization, analyzing data using appropriate statistical methods and preparing data for presentation-ready format and ELN entry.
  6. Maintain detailed experimental records and stay compliant with all relevant internal and external training requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (such as Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Tumor Immunology) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory-based experience in industry/biotech or an academic setting is required.
  • Experience with animal handling in oncology-relevant rodent models such as subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor implantation techniques, dosing, proper handling of therapeutics, tumor measurement, health monitoring, data collection and analysis is required.
  • Experience with adherence to animal welfare and compliance regulations is required.
  • Drug administration by subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, intravenous tail vein injections and oral gavage. Blood collection by tail vein, saphenous vein and cardiac puncture. Perform animal autopsy/dissection and microsurgery, perfusion and tissue collection.
  • Experienced with cell culture of cancer or immune cells is a plus.
  • Experienced with bioluminescent imaging, flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA/MSD is a plus.
  • Learning agility and the ability to work across multiple projects highly preferred.
  • This position may require occasional weekend, evening, and holiday dosing/animal monitoring.
