Title: Legal Contracts Specialist
Pay Rate: $30.00 - $32.00 / hour (based on experience)
Work Location: Arlington, VA
Duration: 12 month contract role with a possibility of extension
Schedule: 40 hours week // 9am-5pm
Tentative Start Date: January 6, 2025

About the Role:
As a Contracts Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in preparing and examining service-related contracts while providing legal guidance to our client's organization. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks, optimize procurement strategies, and support the development of KPIs and performance tracking mechanisms. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to key initiatives, including preparing for an RFP release in 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and review contractual documentation, purchase orders, and related materials.
- Monitor KPIs outlined in BAC-owned procurement and advise leadership on breaches or penalties.
- Build and maintain performance tracking mechanisms for KPIs within contracts.
- Develop and advise on procurement best practices and RFP development, aligning with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across legal, regulatory, privacy, and compliance departments.
- Track procurements, purchase orders, work orders, and invoices through reconciliation.
- Provide recommendations on incentive structures to align with operational objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- 0–3 years of experience in contract preparation, procurement, or a related field.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in contract management.
- Experience in service contract procurement, including leading or executing RFP processes.
- Knowledge of performance management tracking and KPI development.
- Ability to develop and implement incentive structures to drive results.
