The Payroll & HR Operations Specialist will be responsible for administering payroll and benefit activities and day-to-day HR Operations for the LATAM region. This position will have dual reporting to the Compensation & Benefits Manager (NY) and Sr HR Manager in Miami Office. This role will be based in our Miami office.


  • Manage the relationship with the payroll function within multi-country scope working with Mexico, Brazil, and St. Barth
  • Perform monthly commission calculations for all eligible employees and communicate payments to payroll vendors and Store Managers
  • Primary contact for onboarding and off-boarding documentation and communications. Request and collect onboarding documentations from new hire. Route the paperwork internally and externally for proper set-up
  • Responsible for all LATAM employee documentations including creation of employment contracts for new hires, retail employee commission contracts, etc.
  • Partner with all external payroll vendors to ensure payroll changes are documented and processed in a timely manner with accuracy
  • Maintain regular contact with payroll vendors & local managers to report and monitor employee attendance
  • Process all disability and worker’s comp claims for Latin American employees
  • Responsible for administration of the benefit plans for all countries including processing all enrollments
  • Update and maintain employee records in HRIS system, for all changes including new hires, promotions & terminations for all Latin American employees
  • Administer Background checks & Reference checks
  • Support with HR-led employee engagement activities – Pride, Hispanic, Black History, Women’s month, Green initiatives, etc.
  • Support Comp and Benefits Manager in administration of annual benefits, ICR process, Annual Report, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities to automate current processes and implement effective controls to drive efficiency and streamline process
  • Autonomously compile reports for internal and external use, including ad hoc reporting, payroll reporting, auditing requests, and other reports as per request
  • Develop and delivery communications to inform employees regarding compensation, payroll, benefits updates
  • Implement C&B initiatives and programs for the region


Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ year(s) of payroll/compensation/benefits experience
  • Degree in Human Resources /Finance or a related field
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft products a must: Word, Excel including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, Power Point and Outlook
  • Fluency in Spanish essential, (Portuguese, French a plus)
  • Excellent detail orientation skills required with a strong commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required; Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Analytical; proficient with numbers, and ability to problem solve
  • Ability to multitask, organize priorities, meet tight deadlines and work independently
  • Positive and professional attitude with commitment to resolve issues and respond quickly to employees
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and employee privacy at all times
