Position Summary:


The Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Technician performs product receiving, inspection, diagnosis, reporting, and disposal. They are crucial in ensuring product functionality, hardware evaluation, and minimizing return processing time. This position involves working with returned SmartCover™ products under Return Merchandise Authorization.


Job Duties:


Diagnose and Repair:


  • Evaluate returned SmartCover™ products to identify issues and perform necessary diagnostics.
  • Repair and troubleshoot defects, malfunctions, or damage.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex problems.


Testing and Quality Assurance:


  • Conduct thorough testing of repaired SmartCover™ products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Verify that all components are functioning correctly.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate records.


Documentation and Reporting:


  • Complete detailed testing reports, including the cause of failure, repair steps, and parts used.
  • Provide clear documentation for tracking and warranty purposes.


Inventory Management:


  • Maintain an organized inventory of parts.
  • Clean and return, store, or dispose of products or parts.


Process Improvement:


  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance the RMA process.

Job Requirements:


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Experience in electronics repair, troubleshooting, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, soldering equipment, and testing instruments, including Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, DAQs, and Microscopes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Docs software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and good judgment in a rapidly changing, intense, and fast-paced team environment.
  • Multi-task and coordinate multiple and often conflicting priorities.

Education Requirements:


  • An associate degree or equivalent experience and additional electronics or computer science education is a plus.


Physical Demands:


  • Body Positions: Includes standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing and handling.
  • Work may be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment and outdoors in a non-controlled environment.
  • The typical noise level is low to moderate.
