Builds and supports critical customer-faces software platforms and applications using Java, J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Core, JavaScript, Swagger, relational databases, and NoSQL database management systems. Creates and enhances Application Program Interface (API) design components -- versions, isolation, and micro-services, by employing Java-based test frameworks -- Junit, Mockito, and Spring Test. Creates web and mobile applications using JSP, HTML, CSS/SASS, JQuery, Angular, and NodeJS. Constructs application features in alignment with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles using RESTful services and XML/JSON. Supports software capabilities within cloud environments-- Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience (requirements are standardized across PERM program)

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing highly transactional microservices using Java and Open-Source technologies in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing highly transactional microservices using Java and Open-Source technologies in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) developing highly available, scalable, fault tolerant, performance efficient, resilient, and secure solutions, using Wiremock, Apache Ignite Cache, Hystrix Circuit Breakers, Java or JavaScript on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for retail customer workflows in financial service environment.
  • DE developing and implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, using tools -- Docker, Jenkins, Stash, or\u00A0 uDeploy; and configuring continuous build and integration flows, using Git, Maven, Ant, or Jenkins within a UNIX environment (Ubuntu and Centos).
  • DE building Java based platforms using Docker images deployed into a containerized environment; building software applications and staging them, using Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, or Git; and monitoring code quality using Sonar and Veracode.
  • DE building pipelines to achieve efficiency, performance, and agility for the deployment of software applications using automated DevOps processes -- Maven, Jenkins, Stash, or Sonar.
