Senior Project Manager - RETAIL Architectural Design

One of my favorite architectural design firm, based in the heart of New York City, specializing in retail spaces is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their studio, with a view to progress into a Studio Director Role. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, they transform concepts into captivating realities, shaping the landscape of retail environments. This friendly, diverse and dynamic team of architects, designers, and project managers collaborates seamlessly to deliver exceptional results.


Position Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team and lead the execution of retail architectural projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of architectural design principles, project management methodologies, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex retail projects on time and within budget.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of retail architectural projects from initial concept through construction and final delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure project requirements are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans to effectively manage project scope, timeline, and costs.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Foster strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and exceptional service delivery.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture OR Interior Design
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the architectural design industry, with a focus on retail projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple retail architectural projects simultaneously, from concept to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction techniques, and building codes and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.
