Job Title: Bid Coordinator

Location: Hybrid - 3 days in office in Farmers Branch, TX / 2 days WFH  

Start Date: 10/21/2024

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Pay: $20

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8AM – 5PM

Summary:

The Bid Coordinator is responsible for managing bids within a designated area, communicating pricing and product information to distributors, and supporting school district food service departments. This role requires strong collaboration with manufacturers and sales teams to drive new business and ensure accurate bid management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and broker sales reps

  • Collaborate with the K-12 sales team to develop new business and communicate bid information, including product samples and awarded items

  • Enter and manage bid data in bid program, including pricing, awards, and product updates throughout the bid term

  • Analyze competitive bid data and negotiate pricing with manufacturers for new bids

  • Stay updated on trends, specifications, and legislation in K-12 food service

  • Assist with school food shows and workshops, including product preparation and cooking demonstrations

  • Support additional duties as needed by the manager

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience (6 months to 1 year in a related field)

  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting technical documents, financial reports, and legal materials

  • Ability to address inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies effectively

  • Proficient in presenting information to management, public groups, and boards

  • Competency in basic math and data analysis (e.g., calculating rates, ratios, interpreting graphs)

  • Familiarity with contact management systems, databases, internet software, and order processing tools

  • Strong negotiation, project management, and leadership skills
