A rapidly growing private equity firm is looking to bring on a Deputy General Counsel on a remote basis. The firm is based in Florida and is on the lookout for a seasoned legal professional with a background in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. As part of their collaborative team of forward-thinkers, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our legal strategy and ensuring compliance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.


The team is comprised of open-minded, cooperative individuals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional results for clients. As Deputy General Counsel, you'll be reporting directly to the General Counsel while overseeing matters ranging from transactional work to regulatory compliance. Your expertise in navigating complex legal landscapes will be instrumental in driving the firm's success.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on a range of matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Co-lead negotiations and drafting of transactional documents, ensuring the protection of our firm's interests.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures that mitigate legal risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other advisors to support our firm's objectives.



Requirements:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in any state.
  • 7+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on private equity and financial services law.
  • Strong knowledge of investment regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
