About the Early Childhood Department:

Round Rock ISD is committed to providing 3- and 4-year-old students, along with their families, a comprehensive, cohesive, and play-based early childhood program. Our focus is on fostering oral language development, social-emotional growth, and cognitive skills in a safe and engaging learning environment.


About the Role:

The Director of Early Childhood will lead initiatives to promote high-quality, engaging early childhood education programs across RRISD. This leader will collaborate with teachers, administrators, and district staff to implement evidence-based practices that support student success and align with district goals. As Director, you will be instrumental in creating a foundation for lifelong learning for our youngest learners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of early childhood programs aligned with district goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to foster inclusive and engaging learning environments.
  • Oversee pre-kindergarten programs, Child Development Centers, and Teen Parenting initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines and manage program budgets effectively.
  • Support parent and community engagement to enhance student success.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff, ensuring the recruitment and retention of highly qualified personnel.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing needs and implementing strategies for program success.


Entry Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of four years of related experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
