Manufacturing Engineer

POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The manufacturing engineer shall support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily production support; project manage key programs; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high quality product.

Principal Activities

  • Based on requirements from customer orders, plan sequences of operations for fabrication and assembly of products.
  • Ensure efficient and effective manufacturing methods are used that are compatible to available machines.
  • Specifies, design and/or procures special tooling or equipment required to attain product per customer requirement with in budgeted cost and time.
  • Programs CNC machines to effectively and efficiently produce desired product.
  • Participate in the Company’s Corrective Action and MRB Boards.
  • Analyze and resolve fabrication and tooling issues to avoid problems.
  • Create new or modify existing manufacturing drawings using CAD methodology.
  • Value engineer existing products and processes to reduce cost, lead time and cycle times.
  • Complies with all company policies/procedures.
  • Complies with all military and contractual requirements.
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for process improvement and use of Lean and Six-Sigma resources and tools.
  • Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, Solidworks, CATIA and other applicable tools.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) with 2+ years’ experience, or 10 years’ of equivalent experience considered
