Manufacturing Engineer III

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for translating engineering intent into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.
Key Responsibilities:- Create build and flow documents to ensure efficient production processes
- Identify tooling needs required for production to minimize delays and costs
- Develop and maintain manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Author work instructions to guide production staff on assembly and testing procedures
- Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approval for manufacturing to ensure quality and safety
- Ensure build readiness by coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Provide shipside/lineside support working directly with flight hardware to resolve issues and improve processes
- Participate in anomaly investigations, root cause/corrective action analyses, and development/implementation of recovery plans to minimize downtime and costs
- Generate, manage, and close non-conformance reports (NCRs) to ensure compliance and quality
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive, or similar
- Extensive experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity in one or more of the following areas: Vehicle Integration, Instrumentation, Structures, Harnesses, Avionics, GN&C, Thermal Protection, or Test
- Experience with new product development and ability to mentor manufacturing engineers with less experience
- Demonstrated ownership in your area of responsibility and strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to develop processes compliant with industry quality systems such as AS9100
- Customer-focused with a proven ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Ability to support scheduled work shift (we may rotate shifts occasionally) and work off-shift (2nd or 3rd shifts), extended hours, and weekends if/when vital
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Master's Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or similar) from an accredited college or university
- Extensive experience in New Product Development
- Extensive experience identifying tooling needs for production
- Proficient in writing work instructions at a high pace
- 6-8+ years manufacturing engineering experience
