Career Path

You should expect to hold the Investment Customer Service position for 24-36 months, during which time you will be evaluated on the impact of your contributions to the firm, taking on more responsibilities as you acquire the necessary skills to eventually advance to a more senior role.

Key Competencies and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • **A minimum of 3-5 years in client service for Financial Planning or Wealth Management Firm in an _Operations or Client Services_ with a focus on investments
  • FINRA S6 or S7 (preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of securities industry’s rules and regulations
  • Proficient computer skills:
  • Advanced Technology Skills and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
  • Financial Planning Software Experience (Example: Morning Star, Money Guide Pro, eMoney)
  • CRM Software / Database Experience (Example: Salesforce, Redtail, Etc.)

  • Employ good analytical skills to be able to research account information and resolve problems.
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong track record of success in previous positions.
  • Known for being a self-starter, getting things done, and inspiring others.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy – takes pride in completing precise work.
  • Prepare and process documentation for client transactions, including opening new accounts, transferring assets, deposits, withdrawals, account title changes, address changes, and beneficiary changes.
  • Knowledgeable of financial services products, including but not limited to equities, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts.
  • For established clients, the Client Service Specialist will often serve as the most frequent point of contact.
  • Demonstrates outstanding teamwork and time management skills.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and operate to tight deadlines.
  • Possesses a Strong team-oriented mentality with a desire to achieve personal and company performance goals.
  • Possesses Embodies high ethical standards and trustworthiness.
  • Consistently demonstrates Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Handle miscellaneous operational activities and projects (e.g., scanning documents, mailing, etc.)
