Faculty Accreditation Lead


The Faculty Accreditation Lead (FAL) is a senior member who manages the self-study and survey visit processes for the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation of a medical school.


For the first 2 years the position will oversee all the accreditations necessary in order for us to get our new medical school up and running. After the 2 years, the position will be considered for an Associate Dean level.


What you'll do in this position:

  • Ensuring the Data Collection Instrument (DCI) is prepared accurately, completely, and on time.
  • Coordinating the self-study task force.
  • Completing the self-study summary report.
  • Distributing sections of the DCI to the appropriate individuals.
  • Reviewing the DCI responses for accuracy and completeness.
  • Using the DCI responses to complete the draft DCI.
  • Ensuring the draft DCI adheres to the style guidelines.


What qualifies you for this role:


Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years relevant experience in administration, project management/direction or related.
  • Thorough understanding of the medical school's program, a thorough knowledge of and experience with the LCME accreditation elements, having completed an LCME accreditation process. They should also be able to identify institutional policies and information sources, and engage with members of the administration, faculty, and student body.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in a health or educational field.
  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience in administration, project management/direction or related.
  • Strong understanding of medical school accreditation requirements or deep experience in medical education, academic planning, or academic compliance matters that would allow for rapid acquisition of medical accreditation expertise.
  • Prior experience within academic healthcare or in a university, hospital, or closely related setting.


Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications:


  • Excellent negotiation skills with an ability to influence and bring together both internal and external parties.
  • Excellent writing, strategic thinking, analytic, organizational, and presentation skills, with the demonstrated ability to generate work products that are accurate, clear, and relevant to the topic at hand. Candidates should be proficient in Word, Excel, Power BI, Project Management software and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced institutions and multiple stakeholders, with poise and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated experience and effectiveness with a variety of work relationships, including overseeing direct reports, managing project teams, and/or working productively with senior or executive leadership.
  • Eagerness to learn from others, with clear evidence of a growth mindset, and a willingness to iterate on work products. Commitment to supporting a positive, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Prior experience within academic healthcare or in a university, hospital, or closely related setting.
