Position Description:

Participates in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) -- designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications using Test-Driven Development (TDD), Objected Oriented Programming (OOP), and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) methodologies. Builds automated pipelines using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins, TFS, Bamboo, and uDeploy). Develops software solutions, using JavaScript, Typescript, Perl, Php, Python, Jython, Groovy, Ruby, C#, and .NET. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing applications on Cloud platforms -- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing applications on Cloud platforms -- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) developing and implementing highly responsive user interface components using ReactJS or Angular; and delivering large-scale software applications and integrated systems.
  • DE developing platform components using Java Web Services, JWS/JAX, and Component Based Architectures; and Java software development of web applications and client/server applications.
  • DE designing and developing scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient business critical applications in a regulated industry on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud infrastructure using AWS services -- Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2), Application Load Balancer (ALB), Lambda functions, Elasticsearch, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • DE designing and developing distributed, fault tolerant, and high throughput enterprise software solutions using middleware technologies -- Java, Python, and RESTful Webservices; databases --NoSQL and Oracle; and front-end technologies -- JavaScript and Angular.
