SUMMARY:

Perform preliminary inspections on aircraft engines and components undergoing maintenance and alteration Assign tasks during the preliminary Inspection phase and monitor the discrepancies as they are written. Be responsible for all customer required entries in the operators MIS system.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Review incoming aircraft maintenance flight logs for items of work required to be accomplished at the Repair Station.

● Procure required forms and work orders, and transfer work to be accomplished to forms.

● Be responsible for the surveillance of all work in progress.

● Accept or reject work accomplished on all items generated by the work order.

● Be responsible for the entries in the aircraft maintenance flight logs, as well as the air worthiness of the work performed and the aircrafts’ release from maintenance once all work has been completed.

● Inspection methods:

● As required perform the duties of the Quality Control Receiving / Shop Inspector as listed in section 1.7.10.

NOTE: Inspection shall be accomplished as required during progress of work and at completion prior to release of aircraft on all items written.

● Check for proper installation, security, safety and workmanship.

● Pressure checks if necessary.

● Check for proper material and fasteners.

● Check for conformance to specifications per repair, maintenance or other relevant manual or applicable engineering instructions approved by FAA.

In addition, may be tasked to:

● Safety audits of the all hangars, back shop areas.

● Accompany OSHA, ADEM, Fire Department and/or other regulatory enforcement personnel during their facility inspections, as required.

● Direct and/or participate in waste spill cleanup.

● Perform additional duties as required by the Manager Quality Control / Chief Inspector.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Must be able to read, write and speak the English Language. Must have supervisory skills and be able to perform as a mentor for new Inspectors. Must have basic computer skills and maintain a general knowledge of FAA Regulations pertaining to the Repair Station and the customers requirements.

WORKING ENVIROMENT:

Industrial environment. Requires the Inspector to be able to use man lifts, scissor lifts and various other types of ladders.

SUPERVISION:

Under general direction. Normally performs duties after receiving general instructions as to methods and procedures.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:

A strong level of interpersonal skill sis required to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, Inspectors, co-workers, Supervision and the Customer.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and to report to work regularly.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School or GED Diploma required.

FAA A&P License required.

EXPERIENCE: Background of 5 years’ heavy aircraft maintenance
