As an ASIC Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving efficiency, reliability, and scalability in our ASIC Validation processes. Leveraging your expertise in automation and ASIC validation, you will design, develop, and implement automated solutions to optimize SoC system validation workflows, reduce manual intervention, and enhance overall validation productivity. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge ASIC validation and automation, contributing to the advancement of ASIC development.


Responsibilities:

  • Automation System Design: Design and develop automation solutions for ASIC pre and post Silicon validation, including integrating validation environment with test equipment control systems.
  • Programming and Scripting: Write, debug, and maintain automation scripts and programs using languages such as Python, Perl, or C/C++ and LabView TestStand environment. Develop custom automation software to interface with varieties of ASCI Validation lab test equipment and databases.
  • Integration and Testing: Integrate automation systems with existing validation test infrastructure, including Oscilloscope, power supply, functional/clock generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer and IC test hander. Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure the reliability and performance of automated solutions.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with validation test engineers across our global teams to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement. Implement automation strategies to streamline workflows, minimize cycle times, and reduce error rates.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data from automated processes to monitor performance, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues. Generate reports and dashboards to visualize key metrics and insights for stakeholders.
  • Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support for automation systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing upgrades, and implementing preventive maintenance measures.
  • Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation, manuals, and training materials for automated systems and processes. Conduct training sessions to educate engineers and technicians on the use and maintenance of automation system.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols in the design and operation of automation systems. Implement safeguards and fail-safe mechanisms to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.


Qualifications:

1.Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

2.Experience: 5+ years of previous experience in automation engineering, preferably in IC testing or a related industry. Proficiency in programming, NI LabView, robotics, and industrial automation systems is highly desirable.

3.Technical Skills: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Perl, C/C++, or Java. Familiarity with NI LabView automation frameworks. Experiences with ASIC validation and debug is a huge plus.

4.Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex ASIC validation processes and develop innovative automation solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.

5. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, convey automation concepts to validation focused stakeholders, and document automation designs and processes.

6.Adaptability and Initiative: Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing requirements, and take ownership of projects from concept to deployment.
