Position Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Operations

Positions Supervised: Direct Materials Clerk(s), Receiving Clerk


POSITION PURPOSE

The Material Supervisor will be directly responsible for the on-site management and flow of all raw / direct material for EOTECH Plymouth, as well as the management of the direct materials and receiving team(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Responsible for the management and accuracy of all material warehoused in the EOTECH HQ (Plymouth) direct material area.
  • Oversee the receiving, storing, and organizing of materials and supplies to ensure efficient workflow and space utilization.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of direct materials staff, ensuring that they adhere to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Manage EOTECH’s ERP system for materials management.
  • Oversee the material coordination with our partner location in Traverse City, Michigan.
  • Manage the cycle count program for all materials located in the direct materials warehouse.
  • Lead the direct materials area during EOTech’s annual physical count.
  • Interface with assembly Team Leaders regarding material needs and expectations.
  • Kit and provide materials to the assembly lines as needed.
  • Manage processing of inventory movement and scrap transactions via ERP system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, logistics, and quality control, to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery to meet production needs.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline material handling operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
  • Advise management of the status of material availability, and potential problems related to material availability.
  • Troubleshoot material discrepancies using general problem solving and ERP system skills.
  • Improve ERP system to work for the benefit of material management.
  • Cultivate a culture that assures effective cross functional teamwork.
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
  • Perform job duties in a manner that maintains compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience managing hourly employees
  • Strong Excel / data analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems as it relates to materials management, Odoo a plus.
  • Need minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience in a production-based logistical or inventory environment
