Our client is currently looking for a Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their team in southern Louisiana. This position will report to the Director, Operations Engineering and will be responsible for advancing the Ready for Operations (RFO) activities, ensuring a seamless transition of the facility from EPC to the operations phase.

The preferred candidate will function as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for rotating equipment, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of components such as turbines (gas & steam), motors, generators, compressors, and pumps. Familiarity with associated components/systems like couplings, bearings, lubrication, and sealing systems (dry gas seals and mechanical seals) is vital. Proficiency in compressor performance and vibration analysis is fundamental for success in this capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the in-house Subject Matter Expert for Rotating Equipment system engineering matters.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Rotating Equipment and Mechanical systems to Maintenance & Operations teams to ensure continuous equipment operability.
  • Offer advanced diagnostic support to expedite production recovery in the event of equipment failure and forced plant outage.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) exercises and deliver findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Interpret and assess analysis and recommendations from Reliability Technicians concerning predictive maintenance programs.
  • Assist the Maintenance team with Turnaround planning and execution.
  • Monitor availability and enhance overall reliability of plant equipment.
  • Evaluate workflow processes, identify critical spares, and establish spare parts storage and preservation requirements for Rotating Equipment systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline is required, with a preference for a focus in Mechanical Engineering. A Professional Engineering License is advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a senior engineering role involving Rotating and Mechanical equipment in an industrial setting, with specific exposure to Oil and Gas, ideally in LNG applications.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with CMMS Systems, proficiency in RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis.
