This position works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand their cloud infrastructure needs and ensure successful implementation and optimization of AWS-based solutions. This position collaborates with Development teams to address new technical requirements and with Operations to manage each project's unique infrastructure needs. Will effectively architect and maintain cloud systems with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have experience in cloud engineering, system administration, and project management, with a strong foundation in both Linux and Windows environments. Must be highly detail-oriented and adept at translating business requirements into robust, scalable cloud solutions. This is a hybrid position requiring at least one day per week in the office to facilitate face-to-face collaboration and team building, with the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week

What You Will Do:
- Build and maintain scalable, highly available cloud systems on AWS, leveraging your expertise in both Ubuntu Linux and Windows environments
- Manage our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across different operating systems
- Use infrastructure as code tools to automate deployments for both Linux and Windows instances
- Optimize our cloud resource utilization, balancing performance and cost-efficiency across all platforms
- Implement cloud security best practices to protect our systems and data, addressing specific requirements for both Linux and Windows
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in multi-OS environments, minimizing downtime
- Work with the development team to support and enhance our CI/CD pipelines for various application stacks
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for both Linux and Windows systems
- Keep up to date with new AWS services and features, suggesting improvements for our infrastructure
- Monitor system performance and respond to alerts for all systems as part of our on-call rotation
- Manage and optimize Active Directory integration with our AWS environment
What You Will Need to Have:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in system engineering or a similar role
- Solid command of Ubuntu Linux administration, including system configuration and troubleshooting
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server administration
- Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, particularly EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, ECS
- Experience managing cloud environments with both Linux and Windows systems
- Practical experience with infrastructure as code
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies, especially Docker and Fargate
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell for automation tasks
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols in cloud environments
- Familiarity with cloud security, best practices and implementation strategies for both Linux and Windows
- Experience with Active Directory and its integration with cloud services
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts effectively

- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- Microsoft certifications (MCSE)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (TeamCity, GitHub, Code Deploy)
- Knowledge of database administration (SQL Server)
- Experience with configuration management tools (SSM, SCCM)
