The Talent Development Specialist - Retail for Community Choice Credit Union will play a pivotal role in enhancing skills, knowledge, and performance of our retail staff. This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and facilitation of training programs that will be tailored to the unique needs of our retail team, ensuring they have the tools and resources necessary to deliver outstanding service to our members.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Training Program Development –Collaborate with subject matter experts and department leaders to analyze training needs for retail staff. Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs and materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and on-the-job training sessions. Continuously evaluate and update training materials and programs to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and technology, staying compliant with consumer protection laws, anti-money laundering regulations, and data privacy. Identify opportunities for career development and advancement within the retail teams and develop initiatives to support employee growth and retention.


  • Sales Skills Development –Provide coaching, feedback, and support to Account Executives to improve their sales skills, including prospecting, needs assessments, solution selling, objection handling, and closing techniques. Develop and conduct sales training sessions to enhance the team’s ability to identify and capitalize on cross-selling and upselling opportunities. Monitor sales performance metrics and provide targeted training interventions to address areas for improvement.


  • Training Delivery & Facilitation –Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for retail staff. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and preferences. Monitor training sessions to assess effectiveness and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to talent development and retail banking.


  • Product & Service Knowledge –Ensure Account Executives and other retail staff have a deep understanding of the credit union’s products, services, features, and benefits. Develop and maintain training materials, product guides, and resources to support ongoing learning and development. Collaborate with key stakeholders and marketing teams to communicate product updates, promotions, and enhancements effectively to the sales team.


  • Learning & Development Initiatives –Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to talent development and retail banking. Ensure retail staff understand and adhere to regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures governing financial services and sales activities. Develop and deliver compliance training modules on topics such as consumer protection laws, anti-money laundering regulations, and data privacy. Continuously evaluate and update training materials and programs to reflect changes in policies, procedures, and technology. Identify opportunities for career development and advancement within the retail teams and develop initiatives to support employee growth and retention.


Who We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • Proven experience in sales, sales training, account management, or related field within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, customer relationship management systems, and sales performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards applicable to financial institutions.
