A worldwide leader in overseeing, managing, and innovating public transportation operations is seeking a Construction Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your project portfolio at an established company with opportunity for growth. This person will also be provided with a company vehicle.



This person will be responsible for managing projects ranging from $5-20 million. The goal of this role is to efficiently manage construction projects and supervise them to ensure the timely and successful completion of various supplementary projects, adhering to safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, direct, and oversee construction projects from start to finish, focusing on field activities.
  • Coordinate construction activities with contractors and project management staff, including scheduling flagging, signals, electrical work, track support, and proposed track outages.
  • Conduct oversight and inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to the outlined scope of work.
  • Develop reports on active construction projects to assess their progress.
  • Attend project-related meetings and collaborate with project management to address issues as they arise.
  • Identify and resolve safety concerns and scheduling conflicts.
  • Develop and implement project-specific field activities in collaboration with organization leadership and project management.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and collaborate on developing subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders and assess, manage, and mitigate project risks.
  • Support the development of specifications for project field services that will be outsourced.

Quality:

  • Maintain the highest level of quality in work products.
  • Optimize the performance of assets in terms of safety, reliability, and availability by promoting continuous improvement, implementing technical innovation, and improving management systems.
  • Ensure quality assurance of the work performed and identify opportunities to enhance quality.
  • Attend and participate in all construction meetings with contractors and clients.


Qualifications:

  • Proven success managing projects $5-20M
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations from transportation authorities,
  • Experience in diverse construction practices
  • Direct engagement in rail industry projects encompassing various aspects
  • Substantial hands-on construction management experience over at least five years
  • Adeptness in project controls such as scheduling and resource management
  • Strong commercial insight and negotiation capabilities
  • Essential involvement with passenger train systems or major railroads
