This company is dedicated to advancing the understanding of complex biological systems and developing innovative solutions to address unmet medical needs.


Role Overview: As the Director of Computational Biology, you will play a crucial role in leading the computational biology team and driving the development of novel algorithms and computational methods to analyze and interpret large-scale proteomics data. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate computational and experimental approaches, ultimately contributing to the discovery and development of new therapeutics.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of computational biologists, providing guidance and support to achieve research objectives and milestones.
  • Develop and implement state-of-the-art computational algorithms and tools for the analysis of proteomics data, including mass spectrometry-based data and other omics data types.
  • Collaborate with experimental biologists and bioinformaticians to design experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to drive scientific discovery and decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in computational biology, proteomics, and related fields, and incorporate innovative approaches into research strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of scientific publications, presentations, and grant proposals to communicate research findings and secure funding.


Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong emphasis on computational methods.
  • 8+ years of experience with track record of successful leadership
  • Proteomics
  • Proven track record of leadership in computational biology or bioinformatics, including experience managing a team of scientists.
  • Expertise in the development and application of computational algorithms for the analysis of large-scale proteomics data.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in computational biology, such as Python, R, or Java, as well as experience with relevant bioinformatics tools and databases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the context of drug discovery and development.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning techniques applied to biological data analysis.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies for scalable analysis of large datasets.
