Senior 3G/4G/5G Software Design Engineer

VOCAL is in search of an 3G/4G/5G software engineer who is highly capable in implementing solutions for various wireless technologies including cellular, RF and WiFi. Engineer will be joining team responsible for designing, developing, coding and testing solutions through productization. The ideal candidate has industry experience achieving real-time embedded solutions.


Have completed or currently pursuing an MS degree (required), or PhD degree (desired), in a field related to RF analog electronics design and analysis.


Required:

A comprehensive theoretical understanding of analog/RF principles and implementation strategies, and working experience, as follows:

  • 5+ years of experience in 3G/4G/5G development and system engineering of the physical layer, protocol stack
  • Hardware design for RF systems and mobile communications systems
  • System and subsystem: grounding, shielding, isolation, and control of EMI
  • Understanding of RF Link Budget and Rx AGC operation and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with RF component characteristics and with Analog/RF CAD tools
  • Test equipment: spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and oscilloscope


Desired:

Digital electronics and telecommunications network experience, as follows:

  • Designing acoustic DSP algorithms for implementation on embedded processors
  • Analyze the performance impact of algorithms by estimating the processing resources such as MIPS, ROM and RAM
  • Coordinate software and hardware development activities with other engineers such as prototyping and tuning algorithms
  • Familiarity with performance testing and test equipment: network analyzer, packet sniffer
  • Research new technologies for inclusion into VOCALs custom product offerings


Education Requirements:

PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field with 15+ years of working experience.
