A services organization in Connecticut is currently seeking an experienced IT professional to join their team in Stamford as their new Solution Architect.

Description:

Typically part of the solution development team, the solution architect is responsible for translating the requirements created by functional analysts into the architecture for that solution and describing it through the set of architecture and design artifacts.
Those artifacts are then used by the rest of the development team to implement the solution.
The process of defining architecture by the solution architect often involves selection of the most appropriate technology for the problem being solved.

Responsibilities:
 Typical day in the role/task breakdown %: % 20 percent solutioning, 40 % design, and 40 % documentation

Team regularly 'knowledge shares' amongst each other as there are subject matter experts in various tools, applications and processes. As it relates to other teams, we receive reporting/analysis requests from more than a dozen teams across the business and we work and interact with them on a regular basis to talk through the asks (learn about their request and impact) and walk through results/findings.

Work with teams across the company (not just departments but physical locations all over the country) and have the opportunity to learn about the work that other teams focus on. It makes us a much more well rounded employee from a 'business knowledge' standpoint than if were just focused on one team or function within the business.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience designing or configuring systems and/or applications
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of software engineering, software development, solution architecture and implementation of medium to large scale systems across multiple platforms.
  • Level III Minimum 6 to 10 years experience designing or configuring systems and/or applications
  • Solution to support the development of requirements / journey maps for Service reliability programs
  • Process flow designs
  • Functional requirements, translating the business requirements into functional for that solution scoping
  • Presentation deck creation.
