The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) in Washington, D.C. is seeking a full-time researcher for its Domestic Terrorism Threat Monitor (DTTM) project. The project tracks and analyzes content on various online platforms.


Responsibilities:

Applicant will be expected to conduct their own primary source research and prepare reports on racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism and antisemitism, by groups and individuals in the U.S. and abroad. Familiarity with this content on all relevant social media platforms is absolutely essential, as are strong writing skills for producing content requiring minimal editing.


The position can require working unpredictable hours, including weekends, as the organization's research is closely tied to breaking news and current events. This position is in-office, rather than remote or hybrid.


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

· Experience as a researcher of domestic extremist groups and individuals and their activity on the Internet/social media, in the U.S. and abroad, with a strong record of published research

· 2-5 years of relevant experience

· Strong teamwork skills and a deep motivation to make an impact in these issues

· Write impactful reports read by governmental and law enforcement clients

· Conduct independently driven research and develop critical research skills

· Present briefings to audiences including law enforcement, governmental departments, supranational organizations, media and academics.


Additionally, the successful candidate must commit to two years' employment.
