Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager

  • Plan, direct, and control cost of operations of the Maintenance Department in meeting Plant and equipment needs.
  • Initiate preventive maintenance programs to minimize maintenance cost of all production equipment.
  • Set up and maintain equipment inventory, repair and maintenance records on all plant machinery
  • Schedule maintenance and repair priorities on normal plant building and equipment maintenance needs.
  • Initiate and/or approve all requisitions for supplies, tools, materials, equipment, and/or services used or needed for the efficient operations of the Maintenance Department and submit the requisitions for approval.
  • Recommend new equipment, new methods, and/or changes that will reduce cost of department operations, improve performance of the department, or increase the life and/or efficiencies of line operating equipment.
