Data Management Coordinator

Position Function:
The Data Management Coordinator provides coordination of efforts to support the planning, implementation, and on-going administration of electronic processes related to alumni and donor data gathering, analysis, and reporting. The Data Management Coordinator reports to the Director of Data and Research Strategy: a unit that provides services to the Alumni Association, Foundation, and the Vice President’s Office for the Division of Development and Alumni, through coding, analysis, and reporting of alumni and donor data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Initiates and maintains interactions and collaborations with Information Technology Services for the purposes of obtaining, analyzing, and reporting data needed to manage the Alumni and Foundation database
2. Coordinates batches of constituent data in Blackbaud CRM, including troubleshooting any issues
3. Liaison with other campus departments for collection, tracking, and reporting of alumni and donor data
4. Gathers, analyzes, and reports alumni and donor data
5. Provide consultation to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of modifications and enhancements to existing operations, systems, and procedures
6. Trains staff and student workers in Data Services
7. Utilizes specified statistical software to analyze and interpret research data, as appropriate to the individual position
8. Maintains procedure manual for Data Services processes
9. Provides functional direction to other Data Services staff members on assigned work
10. Supervises 1-2 student workers
11. Works with other institutional committees and staff to coordinate work and provide technical assistance, as assigned
13. Administrator for the Alumni MobileUp app
14. Coordinates the process to manage duplicate records
15. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Three years of experience in administration of university advancement system, and
designing, reporting, and analyzing institutional data

Any equivalent combination of related experience and/or education approved by the Department of Human Resources Management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. In-depth capabilities to utilize Blackbaud CRM, Xtender, Excel
2. Ability to gather and analyze data and generate reports
3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
4. Records maintenance skills
5. Ability to prepare research reports
6. Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data
7. Ability to pay attention to details
8. Well-developed interpersonal, teamwork, verbal and written communication skills
9. Demonstrated ability to manage/coordinate multiple tasks
10. Independent self-starter with strong work ethic
11. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility
• Externally imposed deadlines; set or revised on short notice; frequent shifts in priority; numerous interruptions requiring immediate attention; unusual pressure on a daily basis due to accountability for success for major projects or areas of operation
• Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands
• Job occasionally requiring standing and lifting up to 25 pounds
