Scientific Drilling International is accepting online applications for the position of Asset Auditor at our Houston, TX location. The Asset Auditor will oversee and evaluate the condition, readiness, and overall health of our equipment and tools. The Asset Auditor will be responsible for conducting thorough audits of our fleet counts at all Western Hemisphere SDI Facilities, kit boxes, generating detailed reports on asset conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Auditing & Reporting:

  • Conduct regular audits of equipment and kit boxes, assessing each asset's condition and readiness for deployment.
  • Work closely with Operations and Product Line Managers to understand current and future assets and operational needs.
  • Oversee and manage fleet counts (audits) at all SDI facilities to make physical inventory and our ERP system match.
  • Produce detailed, accurate reports on the current status of assets.
  • Use SAP to manage asset tracking systems, ensuring all data related to audits, updates, and asset conditions is accurately recorded and maintained.

Health Checks & Field Readiness Assessment:

  • Ensuring equipment meets operational requirements.
  • Evaluate and determine the operational readiness of each kit.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to determine the repair or replacement needs for underperforming or damaged equipment.
  • Assist with developing a program to help the organization determine what a healthy level of 3rd party rentals is and help the organization maintain that number.
  • Assist the Finance Department to help provide any needed information to help them maintain a clean Asset Register.

Technical Proficiency & Equipment Understanding:

  • Develop a deep technical understanding of the company's tools and equipment to assess their functionality and usage.
  • Stay updated on the technical specifications and operating procedures of all tools, ensuring accuracy during audits.

SAP Proficiency:

  • Utilize SAP to monitor, manage, and report on asset status, maintenance schedules, and overall lifecycle management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into SAP, maintaining up-to-date information on asset conditions, repairs, and operational status.
  • Generate asset reports and insights using SAP to support decision-making regarding field readiness and asset health.

Domestic travel up to 50% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience using an ERP system
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Must be motivated and have ability to work in fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Adhere to established company procedures and policies including safety standards and company HSE policies and work schedule (overtime may be required)
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing all assigned functions and supporting other department needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oil & gas industry experience preferred
  • 3+ years of SAP experience
  • Knowledge of downhole drilling tools
  • Auditing experience

Equipment & Software Knowledge:

Equipment and software used in performing the essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Corporate ERP systems. (SAP)
  • MS Office Word, Power Point and Excel.

Work Environment:

Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects. Working near radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others or working alone.


Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, lift and carry up to 40 lbs., operate a motor vehicle, and operate motor equipment.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, power tools, air tools, telephone, and automobile. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
