Social Service Assistant Supervisor

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Social Service Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the proper functioning of assigned shifts and the supervision of Social Service Assistants and of clients in the residential treatment program
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field.
Experience: Minimum two years of relevant experience; previous supervisory experience preferred.
Availability: Varies, with some on-call responsibilities.
Certifications/License: Eligible for QMHA, valid Oregon Driver's license and insurable under agency's insurance. Ability to pass Pro ACT crisis intervention training which includes verbal and physical intervention principles. (See Looking Glass employment page for details.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Functions in the role of supervisor for assigned shifts.
- Establishes and supervises daily structure and routine procedures.
- Some on-call duties.
- Ensures that other staff complete assigned duties and document accordingly.
- Plans, conducts or organizes program activities during shift. Perform Pro-Act trained restraints in accordance to program policy; ensuring client health and safety.
- Provides supervision of youth behavior and staff performance.
- Facilitates group counseling and group skill-building activities.
- Communicates pertinent information to leadership, ensures consistent approaches and structure used by other supervisors.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
