Responsibilities

Educational Program Development

Develop and manage educational programs, including webinars, workshops, certification courses, and conferences.

Conceptualize, develop, and oversee educational programming for live events, including Symposium, Summits, and partner events. Identify relevant content and collaborate with host DMOs and sports commissions for local experts. Recruit and manage speakers, conduct prep calls to ensure content matches audience needs, and review presentation materials for quality and adherence to brand standards. Serve as on-site lead for education sessions, ensuring proper room setups and audio-visual arrangements.

STS Certification Program

Oversee management of the Sports Tourism Strategist (STS) certificate program.

Monitor participants’ credits earned and certification achievements. Develop new categories of certificate levels (e.g., “Masters”). Respond to questions from participants and manage the recognition program at the Sports ETA Symposium.

Sports Tourism Learning Institute

Lead the development and curation of content for Sports ETA's digital learning academy, including online courses, certification programs, and other resources.

Identify content needs and recruit subject matter experts (SMEs) as speakers. Work closely with SMEs to develop course content that aligns with objectives. Negotiate contracts and manage revenue share programs with SMEs, including quarterly reports and payments. Manage and collaborate with the Instructional Designer on new courses and reporting.

Research and Data Analysis

Lead research initiatives to provide insights into industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.

Identify content needs and recruit SME’s to publish research reports, white papers, and articles to inform and educate members. Analyze data to identify emerging trends and best practices in sports tourism.

Member Engagement and Support

Engage with members to understand their educational needs and interests.

Provide support and resources to members, including access to research data and educational materials. Facilitate networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities among members.

General Administration

Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of Sports ETA's educational offerings.

Draft surveys to gather feedback from participants and adapt programs based on survey data and feedback. Assist in the preparation of the annual Association budget for certificate income and expense, and live event speaker expenses.

Partnerships and Collaboration

Develop and manage educational content for Sports ETA partnerships. Work closely with other departments within Sports ETA, including events, membership, marketing, and technology, to ensure seamless integration of educational initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as sports management, tourism, education, or business; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and delivering educational programs for a professional audience. Proven track record of creating engaging and effective learning experiences. Experience managing and collaborating with speakers and subject matter experts. Understanding of the sports tourism industry and its current trends. Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in data analysis and research methodologies. Experience with digital learning platforms and educational technologies. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Internet, and comfortable using social media in a professional or academic setting.
