Position Summary:

FT 40 hours, Mon-Thurs 2:30pm-11pm shifts, Every Other Weekend.

Summary:

Individually executes assigned patient access “core” role (“core role” includes patient access coordinator, scheduler, insurance auth specialist, or financial counselor roles) and directs / monitors the patient access operations for assigned shift / group of employees on a daily basis as directed by manager.

Responsibilities:

Individually executes all responsibilities outlined in “Core” Radiology Intake Coordinator role, including but not limited to quality, collections, customer service, screening/solution rates, and productivity. Monitors and directs the timely, effective execution of radiology intake operations daily for shift / individuals as assigned by Radiology Intake manager or director. Identifies operational issues / challenges, raises them to department manager / director, and works with manager / director to resolve. Provides summary of assigned group’s / shift’s operating results at end of shift to manager / director in accordance with department leadership’s established operating metrics. Assists manager with staff evaluations by providing input on individuals the Lead has monitored / directed as part of the Lead’s shift monitoring / directing activities. Supports training program for new employees by coaching assigned new employees on radiology intake SOPs (standard operating procedures), workflows, systems / supporting technologies and tools, and performance standards. Supports execution of performance improvement initiatives within the department or with other hospital departments. Is “on call” as required. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in healthcare preferred. Previous Health Care and/or Insurance experience required. Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a hospital/clinic/physician office or related field. Proven expertise with patient access tools, systems, and technologies. Excellent customer service/communications skills. Proven expertise in collection processes and securing solutions for uninsured patients (excludes scheduling “core” roles). Proven knowledge Medical Terminology. Exhibited ability to work as part of a team. Exhibits team-building skills.
