As the Assistant Barge Maintenance Port Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the upkeep of our ACBL barge fleet. Your primary focus will be on enhancing equipment reliability and minimizing dock rejections. You'll oversee inspections, coordinate repairs, and ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and within budget.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT  

Schedule and coordinate barge repairs for the assigned area. Ensure safe working conditions at maintenance facilities and ACBL Team Members/Vendors follow all company, industry, and safety guidelines while operating company equipment. Perform and coordinate barge reliability inspections to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation and verify USCG Tank Barge Streamlined Inspection Program (TBSIP) Guidelines are met. Monitor maintenance and repair work to ensure safety, barge reliability, regulatory compliance, and cost/benefit requirements are met. Serve as emergency point of contact for both scheduled On-Call and On-Demand needs. Performs all other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for...  

You will need to have:  

Must have or qualify for a TWIC card. Knowledge of USCG, OSHA, MSDS regulations is required. Ability to pass a physical and drug screen.  Must possess a valid driver's license. Knowledge of barging, tank operations, and transfer operations and the river system is required.

Even better if you have:

3-5 years of previous barge or heavy equipment maintenance preferred. Operational competence in a marine transportation or shipyard environment is preferred. Proficiency in using office productivity software such as Google G Suite or MS Office software products is preferred.
