A steel grinder operator is a skilled industrial worker responsible for operating and maintaining grinding machines used in metal fabrication and manufacturing processes. These machines are designed to remove excess material or shape metal components to precise specifications.

As a steel grinder operator, your primary role is to set up, adjust, and operate grinding machines to grind and smooth metal surfaces. You will typically work with various types of steel, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, or alloy steel. The specific tasks you may perform include:

Machine Setup: Before starting the grinding process, you will need to set up the machine by selecting the appropriate grinding wheel or abrasive belt, adjusting the machine controls, and ensuring proper alignment of the workpiece.

Grinding Operations: Once the machine is set up, you will operate it to remove excess material from metal surfaces, achieving the desired finish or shape. This involves feeding the workpiece into the machine, monitoring the grinding process, and making adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy and quality.

Quality Control: Throughout the grinding process, you will be responsible for inspecting the workpiece for defects, measuring dimensions, and comparing them to specifications to ensure the finished product meets the required standards.

Machine Maintenance: As a grinder operator, you will also perform routine maintenance tasks on the grinding machine, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts. This helps to optimize machine performance, minimize downtime, and prevent damage to the equipment.

Requirements:
Previous warehouse/industrial experience
Must be able to lift 60+lbs throught duration of the shift
