Summary:

This individual is responsible for managing the operations of the office for the Department of Education

at Mars Hill University, and for assisting the Department Chair in fulfilling the duties of that office. The following is a list of specific responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:

Communications  – Responsible for composing and sending correspondence to individuals, faculty, administration, students, and school systems (public school systems and other IHEs) as requested by Education Department Chair Revising/maintaining Education Department Moodle page Coordinating revisions to the MHU Education webpage Coordinating revisions to and publishing of all handbooks related to Teacher Education (electronic version) Works as liaison between Education Department and MHU administration and all other departments at the university North Carolina Department of Public Instruction All Public school systems in Western North Carolina and other school systems as needed Students/parents in relation to MHU teacher program/teacher certification Responsible for staying abreast of changes/updates in licensure requirements for teacher education students State and Federal Reporting Work  – Annual NCACTE Report Maintains student records/database and compiles statistical information on student population of education majors
