Position Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, youll be responsible for helping students with various learning needs. Collaborate with families and colleagues to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) that support each students progress, both academically and socially.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Provide customized instruction for students with unique learning requirements.
  • IEP Development: Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to state and federal standards.
  • Instructional Adaptation: Adjust teaching strategies to accommodate each students learning style.
  • Progress Assessment: Monitor and evaluate students progress, making adjustments as needed.
  • Classroom Setting: Create a structured, positive learning environment that fosters growth.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside other teachers, specialists, and parents to build a supportive network.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education.
  • Certification: Valid Maine Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience: Experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Strong skills in IEP development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management.
