About the Indiana Management Performance Hub (MPH):

The Management Performance Hub (MPH) provides analytics solutions tailored to address complex management and policy questions enabling improved outcomes for Hoosiers. We partner with state agencies to leverage data in innovative ways to facilitate data-driven decision-making and data-informed policymaking.


Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and job experience.
 

Role Overview:

The Director of Engagement and Analytics is key to providing leadership and expertise within MPH. The Director has extensive knowledge of a particular area (portfolio) and moves easily between areas to tackle problems and offer solutions. The Director is driven by asking “why”, yet has a deep understanding of “how” the organization and its partners operate. They see problems and create solutions that better the organization. They are contributors to the local data community and overall industry. 

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are: 

Oversee the coordination and completion of multiple teams’ work to ensure the quality of deliverables and consistency of efforts across the organization. Advise and consult with executive state agencies to identify and implement strategic continuous process improvement in state government. Proactively identify strategic agency challenges and work cross-functionally to diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions. Participate in creating and implementing agency success metrics and ensuring the successful execution of plans. Develop and launch strategies to increase agency performance across the state. Engage with high-level leaders in target industries to evaluate and facilitate collaboration opportunities. Evaluate and improve the project management process. Serve as project owner for project delivery teams. Foster a positive culture of feedback and utilize feedback to guide and support team members. Participate in weekly meetings to update other members of the leadership team. Participate in community data events and share knowledge/experience with others in the field. Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development. Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

What You'll Need for Success:

Credentials:

Master’s or Doctoral Degree with 1-2+ experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, OR At least 8-10+ years of experience applying the below-outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role. 

Additional Qualifications: 

Ability to analyze, process, and visualize data to improve agency operations (programs, measures, admin);  Utilize knowledge and experience to support team members and the organization;  Ability to tactfully deal with a wide variety of stakeholders to resolve problems;  Displays leadership skills necessary to foster a culture of curiosity within the agency;  Independent thinking and an aptitude for problem-solving;  Exceptional communication skills;  Ability to analyze complex problems;  Ability to delegate tasks, set clear direction, and manage workflow;  Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets;  Initiative to discover solutions and improvements for clients; Exceptional team player. 

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may provide direct supervision for one or more staff members.
